Preface
ABOUT THE VIRTUAL BOOK in E-PEDAGOGY
In this Virtual Book you will find learning resources for an e-pedagogy course for teachers in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
The idea behind the e-pedagogy course has been to strengthen the e-teacher competences among teachers in HE and through this course to inspire participants to develop new e-learning courses related to social work. This course promotes and strengthens the participants’ skills in teaching, supervising, planning and organising good e-learning courses in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
Lifelong learning (LLL) is an important objective for the EU educational systems and for labour mobility in Europe. A tool for LLL is e-learning methodology that makes it possible for professionals to increase their knowledge as part time students.
Being an e-teacher demands specific skills and competences in pedagogy related to supervising students on the Internet. One needs an explicit knowledge of how to structure the learning material to make a suitable and inspiring learning environment for e-learning students.
The material developed is free for other HEIs to use for non commercial use. Please credit the authors.
The material is made for and tested by HE teachers in social work, but other professional educators will find the material useful as well.
We want to thank the Media Centre at Høgskolen i Bergen (Bergen University College) for their contribution with the production of the material and development of the content for this course.
Thanks also to Norgesuniversitetet (the Norway Opening Universities) and Høgskolen i Bergen for making this production possible through grants.
